Regional traffic management is the next big step in ATMS, and again, Castle Rock has led the way. CARS state-wide traffic event reporting allows states to create virtual traffic operations centers (VTOC) with terminals on every user’s desk. CARS coordinates the facts between multiple agencies within metro areas, across the state and throughout the region. It drives dynamic message signs (DMS) without further staff inputs, and turns traveler information into a simple, automated data feed.

CARS - Condition Acquisition and Reporting System
CARS is a road reporting system that supports a multi-state database of traffic events, including construction, accidents, road conditions and delays. CARS databases drive web, 511, DMS, HAR and LPFM systems without further manual input.

NAITC - North American International Trade Corridor
Castle Rock has been selected to lead the development of an Advanced Traveler Information System (ATIS) pilot deployment for the North American International Trade Corridor, covering eleven states from Mexico to Canada. The pilot deployment will demonstrate integrated and cost-effective ATIS technologies, including Low Power FM (LPFM) Radio, 511 Traveler Information, Internet traveler information website, and Variable Message Signs. The system will be powered by the Condition Acquisition and Reporting System (CARS).

Wisconsin State-wide ATIS (Advanced Traveler Information System) Plan and ITS Architecture
Castle Rock was a part of a team that assisted the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in assessing the state-wide traveler information needs and developing a top-level ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) architecture. The aim of the project was to develop a plan for information sharing between Wisconsin’s transportation districts and a state-wide architecture acting as a framework for the deployment of future ITS building blocks.
