511 is a voice-XML based traveler information system driven by the data entered into CARS (Condition Acquisition and Reporting System). Travelers can dial the easy to remember number 5-1-1 from any phone to access up-to-date information concerning accidents, road conditions, congestion and delays. The 511 system requires no additional data input because it takes data directly from CARS.
